Examines environmental problems in Nepal, one of the poorest countries in the world,
where population growth, inequality of resources, and increasing tourism have combined
to threaten environmental disaster for the Himalayan kingdom once touted as "Shangri-
La." The film features interviews with local and international environmental experts, who
argue that only a holistic approach toward development will lead to sustainable growth
accompanied by environmental protection, and examines several successful strategies in
nature conservation.
